Pat Furlong, MS, BSN
Pat Furlong is the Founding President and CEO of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest non-profit organization in the US focused on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She also served on the boards of Genetic Alliance and the National Organization for Rare Disorders, the NIH’s Muscular Dystrophy Coordinating Committee, the Institute of Medicine’s Committee on Pediatric Studies Conducted Under BPCA and PREA, and the FDA’s Molecular and Clinical Genetics Panel.
Ms. Furlong graduated from Mt. St. Joseph College in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a BS in Nursing and attended graduate school at Ohio State University. She received numerous awards, including the 2012 Global Genes | RARE Champion of Hope Advocacy Award and the 2008 Research! America Advocacy Award
